VIDEO: Space Force Makes Second Launch, a ULA Atlas V from Cape Canaveral

A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket carrying the USSF-7 mission for the U.S. Space Force lifted off from Space Launch Complex-41 on May 17 at 9:14 a.m. EDT.

It was the 84th successful launch of an Atlas V rocket, the 139th launch for ULA, and the second launch for the U.S. Space Force.  It was the sixth flight of the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle.

With the launch ULA honored those impacted by the COVID-19 and paid tribute to those on the front lines. The late Vincent De La Torre a member of the OTV team, who passed away from cancer, was also honored during the launch.

Built by Boeing, the X-37B spaceplane is a reusable unmanned spacecraft.
